Get Ready for NPSL 2025: Oklahoma United Schedule Preview

Oklahoma United FC is set to make their NPSL debut in 2025, filling the OKC-based hole created by OKC 1889 FC after the reigning Heartland Conference champions joined Tulsa Athletic in The League for Club’s inaugural season. However, unlike the Imps who had to repeatedly play Arkansas Wolves FC and Demize NPSL three times apiece, United, and the Wolves, will be making the move south to the NPSL’s Lone Star Conference.

The Griffins are set to play a 10-match regular season schedule that will see them open the season on May 10th on the road against Fort Worth Vaqueros FC. They’ll only play one match at Chad Richison Stadium in May, the home opener on May 27th, also against the Vaqueros. After spending four of the first five weeks on the road, United will play a string of four home matches from June 12 thru June 28 before closing out the regular season on July 2 against Arkansas Wolves.

United’s most notable competition in the new-look Lone Star conference will undoubtedly be West Texas FC. The Midland, Texas outfit dominated the Lone Star last season, finishing 7-1-2 and reaching the South Region Final following a 4-1 pasting of OKC 1889. The team would go on to lose in the South Region Final via a 4-3 decision against the Gulf Coast Sunshine Conference’s Columbus United FC. Last season West Texas averaged nearly four goals per match.

In addition to WTFC, FC Brownsville and the Lubbock Matadors will return in 2025 to help headline the Texas teams in the conference. FC Brownsville finished second in the regular season before dropping a close one to Denton Diablos FC. The Matadors finished a respectable 5-1-4.

The only remnant of the old Heartland Conference, and the only other club outside of the Lone Star State, Arkansas Wolves FC will look to build on a 3-2-1 season, their best record in the past three years.
